Interval training and how it works.

Interval training is a session of high intensity phases followed by moderate intensity recovery phases. It’s really hard… but it’s the fastest way to get fit, boost metabolism, loose fat, and increase your sports performance. It also increases your anaerobic system as well as your aerobic system. During the high intensity effort your anaerobic energy system uses the energy and during the recovery period the aerobic system takes up. You can include interval training method in your own workout or cardio session in gym or when you jog outdoor.
How you do it:-
· Before you start make sure you have done a proper warm up and stretched all the major muscles.
· In a cardio session you can start slowly; for example walk for 2 mins and run2 mins at your maximum effort and repeat the process for 15 or 20 mins.
· Remember to keep a steady and but a challenging pace throughout the session.
· To improve, increase intensity and duration, but not both a the same time.
· If you are doing a resistance workout you can include 5 mins of cardio (jog, stepping, boxing or any other high intensity activity) in between 2 exercises, like 5 mins workout and 5 mins cardio.
It’s really easy. All you need is to be little challenging and work on your maximum effort. You have to just set your intensity and duration according to your needs.
According to the American College of Sports Medicine, more calories are burned in short, high intensity exercises.
If you are counting calories burned, high intensity exercise such as intervals are better than long, slow endurance exercise.
Interval Training is the BEST way to strip that fat from your body with the least amount of work. If you exercise at the same intensity over and over again you will not improve and your body will be adapted and won’t show any results. So you need to do an exercise which will cause a new stimulus. This means you need to change your workout or cardio sessions every 4 to 6 weeks because your body gets adapted if you do the same type of training for a long period.
