Nothing could be fresher than a smoothie. A a quick and easy way to quench thirst or as a snack with full of vitamins and minerals. Our body daily needs 4-5 portions of fruits and vegetables in our diet and we are too bored to eat them raw or even cooked.
Smoothies are made from raw fruits and vegetables and contain an abundance of vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, fibre and enzymes that help in our body’s growth, maintenance and repair. They retain the fibres of the fruit in the drink and are a good source of fibre which aids digestion.
If you add milk or yoghurt to your smoothie, you're also getting a bit of dairy in there, with all the benefits it brings such as calcium, quality protein, etc. Smoothies are also natural and free of additives and preservatives, which makes them 100% health food. Another benefit of having a high fibre content is that smoothies can make us feel full for longer, which can stop us from eating between meals.
Here is one of my favourite smoothie….you can create your own with a combinations of your favourite fruits and vegetables. :D
